The Snail and the Whale

Our  puppetry workshop for Preschool & Kindergarten children.

The snail and the whale

Based on the children’s story by Julia Donaldson, Illustrated by Axel Scheffler, published by Macmillan Children’s Books, London.

This is a tale of a tiny snail and a great big grey-blue humpback whale.

‘How I long to sail’ said the tiny snail. So she made a trail that looped and curled and said ‘lift wanted around the world’. Then came a humpback whale who held out his tail for the tiny snail. So the snail on the whale gazed at the sea, the land, the waves and the caves and the golden sand. She gazed and gazed, amazed by it all and she said to the whale ‘I feel so small’.

But then came the day that the whale lost his way. The tide slipped away and the whale was beached in a bay. Can a small snail help save the whale?

Your children can experience the wonder of the world from the sea and help the snail save the whale during this brand new puppetry workshop by Castlemoon Theatre. They will make a snail puppet so they can join in on the tail of the whale.
